Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed in a deposition that a worm ate part of his brain and that he has cognitive issues due to it. He also stated he has mercury poisoning, stemming from eating too much fish.

Kennedy’s lawyer downplayed the claim, stating that Kennedy has undergone treatment to reverse the effects of mercury poisoning and that his cognitive function is unaffected. He asserted that Kennedy’s medical history is being weaponized for political purposes.

According to the deposition transcript, Kennedy claimed he had brain scans showing an “anomaly” caused by a worm that “got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died.” He also said he suffered memory loss and cognitive problems but recovered after halting chelation treatments for mercury.

Kennedy’s claims stem from a 2010 health scare and are now resurfacing amidst his independent presidential campaign. He has faced criticism for spreading misinformation, particularly regarding vaccines. His family has distanced themselves from his views, citing concerns about his stances.
