Well, the Democrats won the 2026 midterms. And less than 24 hours later, I’ve already got two major concerns.
And honestly? It’s already starting to look like a fucking shitshow.
Let’s talk about it.
Concern number one: Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer.
Apparently, Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer are slated to become the majority leaders. And that, quite frankly, is a problem.
Because we’re talking about the SAME FUCKING PEOPLE who have been siding with Trump on all sorts of shit.
The war with Iran. Funding Israel. And so much other stuff.
It’s ridiculous.
And oh, how the fuck could we possibly forget about the 2025 government shutdown?
You know, that little shitshow where federal workers were caught in the middle of a political standoff? The same shutdown that was so incredibly anti-worker? And let’s not pretend that Trump was the only one responsible for dragging that shit out. Schumer and Jeffries were also pushing to continue the shutdown indefinitely.
YES. THE DEMOCRATS WERE PUSHING FOR IT TOO.
And that was absolutely fucking disgraceful.
So now, after all that, we’re potentially going to have these same people back in positions of even greater power.
And guess what? They’re already saying they aren’t interested in blood or vengeance.
What the actual fuck does that mean?
Well, I’ll tell you what I think it means.
It means they aren’t going to do shit.
Now, before anyone misunderstands me, I’m not advocating for blood, revenge, or political retribution. That’s not what I’m asking for. I don’t want political violence. I don’t want some endless cycle of revenge.
But what I DO want is accountability.
We need to hold people accountable. We need investigations where warranted. We need consequences when people abuse their power. We need our elected officials to actually stand up for the people they’re supposed to represent.
And when Jeffries, Schumer, and other centrist, corporate Democrats start talking about how they don’t want blood or vengeance, how they want to work together, and how it’s time to move forward, I can’t help but wonder:
Are you actually planning on doing anything?
Because to me, it sounds like another excuse to maintain the status quo.
It sounds like they want to keep everything exactly as it is. No meaningful accountability. No real consequences. Just business as usual.
And that’s a fucking problem.
Because if the Democrats win an election, take control of Congress, and then decide that the best course of action is to simply preserve the existing political establishment, then we’re seriously fucked.
Concern number two: This whole obsession with working together and moving forward.
I’ve already touched on this, but I’m going to repeat myself because, frankly, it deserves repeating.
The Democrats seem awfully interested in working together. They want to move forward. They want to put the disagreements behind us. They want to get things done.
And you know what?
That’s not inherently a bad thing.
Of course there are things that Democrats and Republicans should be able to work together on. Of course compromise has its place. Government shouldn’t necessarily be about endlessly fighting with one another.
BUT.
There’s a pretty fucking important distinction between working together and simply letting people off the hook.
We cannot just sweep everything under the rug because the election is over.
We cannot pretend that everything is suddenly fine because the Democrats won a couple of elections.
We cannot just move forward without looking backward at what happened, who was responsible, and what needs to be done to prevent it from happening again.
Accountability matters.
And if the Democrats are already signaling that they’re more interested in maintaining cordial relationships with Republicans than actually holding the Trump administration accountable, then what the fuck was the point?
Seriously.
What was the point of all this?
You don’t win an election just to become the next group of people maintaining the same broken political system.
At least, that’s not what I want.
And here’s the thing: It’s been less than a fucking day.
LESS THAN A DAY.
The Democrats haven’t even had time to properly settle into their victories, and already we’re getting these kinds of signals.
What a blue wave.
What a blue tsunami.
You know what? Maybe the country didn’t get a blue wave.
Maybe we just got blue balls.
Because if this is what we’re already looking at, then I have some serious doubts about what the Democrats are actually going to accomplish.
And I swear to God, I would LOVE to be proven wrong.
I would love for the Democrats to surprise me. I would love for them to actually stand up, hold people accountable, fight for workers, challenge corporate interests, and deliver meaningful change.
But I’m not going to blindly celebrate just because they’re Democrats.
I’m not going to give them a free pass.
They need to fucking earn it.
And if they don’t?
Well, then we’re right back where we started.
Different party. Different faces. Same bullshit.
What a fucking blue wave.
Sarcasm, in case that wasn’t obvious.
