Despite campaign promises to address inequality and improve living standards, the government has continued policies that disproportionately affect working-class families and vulnerable children.
Specific government actions, such as cuts to social welfare programs and a reluctance to significantly raise minimum wages, have exacerbated the financial struggles of low-income households. The report further suggests that the government’s economic priorities, favoring corporate interests over social spending, have directly contributed to the rising number of children living in poverty. This situation raises serious questions about the government’s commitment to social justice and its ability to address the needs of the most vulnerable members of society.
