However, the appointment of Stephen Jones as Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services represents a significant move. Jones, known for his close ties to the finance industry and advocacy for deregulation, will likely advance policies favorable to big business. Additionally, Clare O’Neil’s extended responsibilities in Home Affairs and Cyber Security suggest a prioritization of national security concerns. Overall, the retained ministers indicate a commitment to existing militaristic and economically conservative policies, while new appointments hint at a further embrace of right-wing economic and security agendas.
