Affordability Mirage

The article criticizes the Canadian political parties’ proposed solutions to the country’s economic woes in the lead-up to the April 28 federal election. It argues that these parties, despite offering “affordability” measures, fail to address the underlying issues of exploding income inequality, widespread poverty, and inflation-driven real wage cuts.

The author dismisses these proposed measures as inadequate, likening them to a “Band-Aid” solution for deep-seated problems. The article suggests that the political establishment is not offering substantial solutions to the real economic hardships faced by the majority of the population.
