Latin America at the Crossroads: CELAC Summit & the China Question

The article analyzes the escalating imperialist tensions driven by the US, particularly focusing on its provocations against China and Russia, and the increasingly militarized preparations for war. It argues that the US is attempting to maintain its global dominance through aggressive actions in Ukraine, the South China Sea, and elsewhere, fueled by its declining economic power and internal social crisis.

The article criticizes attempts by figures like Lula to create a “multipolar world” as a dangerous illusion that masks the fundamental contradictions of capitalism and the inherent drive towards imperialist conflict. It asserts that these efforts do not represent a genuine challenge to imperialism but rather reflect the ambitions of rival capitalist powers.

It further suggests that the working class must develop an independent, socialist program to oppose imperialism. The article criticizes pseudo-left groups for supporting one or another imperialist power, thereby aiding the drive to war. Instead, the article emphasizes the need for a unified global movement of the working class, based on socialist internationalism, to fight against imperialism and war.
