Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports announced that it prevented 269,678 individuals from entering Mecca who violated residency, labor, and border security regulations. This was part of “Operation Hajj Season 1445,” a campaign to ensure a safe and orderly pilgrimage.
Those denied entry lacked the necessary Hajj permits. The Saudi authorities are strictly enforcing permit requirements to manage the large crowds and ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims. Vehicles transporting these individuals were also seized.
In addition to preventing illegal entries, authorities apprehended 134 individuals for transporting unauthorized pilgrims. These individuals face penalties and legal measures for violating Hajj regulations.
The government emphasizes its commitment to providing a secure and organized Hajj experience for authorized pilgrims and urges everyone to adhere to the rules and regulations. The goal is to prevent overcrowding and ensure that only those with valid permits participate in the Hajj rituals.
