Workers across multiple countries and industries are engaging in strikes and protests, primarily driven by deteriorating working conditions, economic hardship, and government policies. In Greece, research scientists are striking for increased staffing, permanent employment contracts, and better pay, reflecting concerns about job security and fair compensation within the academic sector. Concurrently, Greek seamen operating the Patras-Italy route are striking over safety concerns and staff shortages, highlighting risks and inadequate resources in maritime transport.

In Iran, truck drivers are staging a national stoppage, fueled by rising fuel prices and broader cost-of-living pressures. This action is gaining widespread support, indicating widespread dissatisfaction with economic policies. Ethiopian health workers are currently in their fourth week of a strike, protesting chronic staff shortages and other issues. Their ongoing protest underlines the strain on the healthcare system and the need for better resources and staffing. The converging labor unrest across different geographical locations and sectors reflects a global pattern of worker dissatisfaction with economic conditions and employment situations.
