Across India and Australia, workers are engaging in strikes and protests over pay and working conditions. In Jammu and Kashmir, over 10,000 power department workers initiated an indefinite strike demanding better wages and improved working conditions. Their actions have caused widespread power outages. In Tamil Nadu, sanitary workers are fighting for unpaid salary increases, highlighting the persistent issues of low pay and financial exploitation within the sector.
In Australia, labor unrest is also escalating. Nurses at Virtus Health IVF clinics in Queensland are demanding a pay rise, citing the increasing cost of living and the value of their specialized skills. Similarly, nurses at Epworth Medical Imaging in Victoria have launched strike action to secure better wages and working conditions, demonstrating a growing sense of dissatisfaction among healthcare professionals regarding their compensation and treatment. These disputes highlight the ongoing struggle for fair wages and improved working conditions across various sectors in both countries.
