Early Friday morning, a catastrophic flood struck Central Texas, causing the Guadalupe River to surge by an unprecedented 26 feet in under an hour. The rapidly escalating waters resulted in at least 13 fatalities and widespread devastation. The floodwaters swept through an all-girls summer camp, leaving as many as 20 girls unaccounted for and presumed missing amidst the chaotic aftermath. The sudden and severe nature of the flood caught residents and campers off guard, resulting in a tragic loss of life and raising concerns about the safety of those still missing in the flood-ravaged areas. Search and rescue operations are underway to locate the missing girls and provide assistance to those affected by the disaster.
