HasanAbi’s Career Should End — And The Left Needs To Speak Up

Honestly, I think this should be the end of HasanAbi’s career. Period. And I don’t say that lightly. Because if he is guilty of abusing his dog — and to me, watching the clip and seeing how things went down, it seems like a real possibility — then he really needs to step away. Not take a break, not issue a PR statement, but actually step away from streaming, politics, and influence.

And here’s the key point: it shouldn’t just be right-wingers and centrists calling him out on this. No. That alone isn’t enough. Because Hasan knows how to dismiss criticism from those groups. He can paint it as biased, politically motivated, or part of some imaginary conspiracy. But the one audience whose voice would actually matter in stopping him is the left — progressives, fellow leftists, people who have trusted him and followed him for years. If leftists actually spoke up, called him out, and demanded accountability, that would be far more powerful than anything from centrists or right-wing commentators.

But nope. So far, that hasn’t happened. Either they’ve stayed silent or some have defended him, saying it’s some “right-wing Zionist plot” against Hasan or some nonsense like that. And that’s just absurd. There is no plot. Right-wingers or Zionists didn’t break into his house and force him to allegedly abuse his dog. Hasan did that himself. The video exists. The clip exists. The actions — whatever you interpret them to be — happened. The criticism isn’t fabricated.

The right-wingers and centrists aren’t spinning stories here — they’re calling him out, and rightly so. But calling him out alone isn’t enough. It shouldn’t just fall on people who don’t share his political values to say, “Hey, this is wrong.” If the left truly cares about ethics, empathy, and integrity, they need to be louder than anyone else on this. They need to admit that, yes, one of our own might have done something unacceptable, and yes, we have to hold them accountable.

Because if leftists stay silent, if they continue defending him or excusing him, then Hasan has no incentive to stop. He will continue doing what he does, knowing he can get away with it. Criticism from the right and centrists will just roll off. The power of leftist accountability is the only thing that could really force him to confront this — or step away entirely. And so far, we’re seeing almost none of that.

If this alleged abuse is true, Hasan’s actions are indefensible. The fact that his own base might try to cover for him, rationalize it, or deflect blame is part of the problem. Accountability doesn’t work if it only comes from your enemies. It has to come from the people who trust you, who follow you, who look up to you. That’s the leverage. That’s the moral weight.

So yes — in my view, HasanAbi’s career should end if this turns out to be true. And yes — the left needs to speak up. If they don’t, they’re not just failing his dog, they’re failing the principles they claim to uphold. Silence isn’t neutrality. It’s complicity. And we can’t let that slide.
