Well, the election results are in. Democrats have won control of both the House and the Senate. And now we’re entering a new political reality.
So, to Donald Trump, his administration, the Republican Party, and the MAGA movement, I have a question.
WTF ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW?
Seriously.
Are you going to spend the next two years bitching, whining, moaning, complaining, and throwing temper tantrums because Democrats have regained control of Congress?
Are you going to spend the next two years fighting Democrats on absolutely everything? Are you going to obstruct, threaten vetoes, point fingers, blame everyone else, and turn every single disagreement into another political spectacle?
Or are you actually going to try to get some shit done?
Because here’s the thing. Donald Trump still has two years left in his presidency. Two whole years.
That’s two years in which he and his administration could potentially accomplish something meaningful. Two years in which Republicans could work with Democrats on legislation that actually benefits the American people.
And yet, already, we’re hearing talk about Trump potentially becoming Mr. Veto.
Now, let me ask something.
Is that really going to accomplish anything?
Seriously. What’s the endgame here?
Are you going to veto every single piece of legislation that Democrats send your way simply because it came from Democrats? Even if there’s something in that legislation that could actually help people? Even if there’s something that your own voters would benefit from?
What exactly does that accomplish?
Does it lower the cost of living? Does it make healthcare more affordable? Does it help people struggling financially? Does it improve the country in any meaningful way?
No. It just creates another political standoff.
And here’s another question worth asking.
How long do you think your own voters are going to tolerate that?
Because let’s not forget something. A lot of people voted for Trump because they wanted things to change. They wanted improvements. They wanted their financial situations to get better. They wanted a government that would actually deliver on its promises.
What happens when those people start realizing that nothing is getting accomplished?
What happens when they see their own president spending the remaining two years of his administration fighting with Congress instead of trying to get things done?
What happens when even legislation that could benefit his own supporters gets caught up in political warfare?
Are they just going to keep accepting that indefinitely?
I don’t know. Maybe they will. Maybe they won’t. That’s something we’ll have to see.
But here’s what I think Trump needs to understand.
The election is over. The political landscape has changed. And he needs to figure out what the fuck he’s going to do with the remaining two years of his presidency.
And frankly, if he wants to accomplish anything at all, he’s going to have to learn how to work with Democrats.
And that goes for Republicans in Congress, too.
Now, I’m not saying Trump needs to agree with Democrats on everything. I’m not saying Republicans need to abandon their principles, their policies, or their priorities. That’s not what compromise means.
But governing requires working with people you disagree with.
That’s how a functioning government is supposed to work.
You have disagreements? Fine. Negotiate. Find common ground. Make concessions where necessary. Figure out what you can actually agree on and get something passed.
You don’t have to like each other. You don’t have to agree on everything. You don’t even have to be friends.
But you do have to govern.
And if there are opportunities to pass legislation that improves people’s lives, why the fuck wouldn’t you at least try?
And here’s something else.
If Trump wants to do anything to improve his own political standing, help his party, improve the country, or even leave behind some sort of positive legacy when his presidency eventually ends, then this is an opportunity to do that.
Imagine if, instead of spending the next two years in an endless political pissing contest, Trump actually made an effort to work across the aisle.
Imagine if he found areas of common ground with Democrats and managed to get meaningful legislation passed.
Imagine if he actually prioritized getting things done over winning every single political argument.
Would that suddenly make me a Trump supporter? Absolutely fucking not.
Would that mean I agree with his administration? No.
But I can acknowledge that getting something beneficial accomplished is better than accomplishing absolutely nothing.
And that’s the point.
I don’t want to see another two years wasted because politicians are too busy fighting each other to do their fucking jobs.
And this isn’t just about Trump. It’s about everyone in Washington.
Democrats have their own responsibilities now, too. They have to deliver. They have to demonstrate that they can actually govern. They have to show voters that winning control of Congress means something beyond investigations, political victories, and opposing Trump.
But Trump and Republicans still have responsibilities as well.
They are not suddenly relieved of their obligations just because Democrats won the midterms.
So, to Trump, his administration, and MAGA:
What are you going to do?
Are you going to spend the next two years fighting everyone, or are you going to try to make something of the time you have left?
Because the clock is ticking.
And if you want to accomplish anything meaningful before January 2029, you’re going to have to buckle the fuck down, put aside some of the political theatrics, and actually work with the people who disagree with you.
The American people don’t need another two years of political temper tantrums. They need a government that actually gets shit done.
So let’s see what you do.
