BVG Strike: Halt the Sell-Out!

A labor dispute at BVG (Berlin public transportation) has reached a critical point after arbitration. Despite significant worker dissatisfaction with the employer’s initial offer, which was overwhelmingly rejected, the arbitration result closely mirrors that rejected proposal. This outcome has fueled discontent among BVG workers who feel their demands have not been adequately addressed.

The primary issue at stake appears to be related to wages and working conditions. The arbitration process, intended to find a compromise acceptable to both parties, has instead resulted in a decision perceived by the workers as failing to adequately meet their needs. This perceived inadequacy is the driving force behind the call for a full-scale strike.

The article highlights the urgency felt by the workers. Having already expressed their disapproval of the employer’s original offer, the arbitration outcome is seen as a failure. As a result, the focus has now shifted to direct action. The article stresses the importance of initiating a comprehensive strike without delay. The goal of the strike is to exert pressure on the employer to reconsider their position and ultimately meet the workers’ demands, which are described as justified.
